It’s been two decades since the release of Rabbit-Proof Fence, the true story of an epic journey made by three Stolen Generation children across Western Australia, helmed by Los Angeles-based Aussie director Phillip Noyce.

The young actresses who starred in the acclaimed 2002 film – Everlyn Sampi (Molly Craig), Laura Monaghan (Gracie Fields) and Tianna Sansbury (Daisy Craig Kadibil) – now have children of their own.

“I stay in touch, but it’s not easy,” says 71-year-old Noyce on the phone from New Orleans, where he is location scouting for upcoming thriller Fast Charlie, starring Pierce Brosnan. “Thank goodness for Facebook.”
