Golden Delicious
As a child of the ’80s there was a particular album in my house that both captivated and terrorised me in equal measures. The album was Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War of the Worlds, and it was Richard Burton’s monologue and the violin intro that really sent a shiver down my spine.
What the heck am I talking about? We’ll bear with me, because it was the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard how Heather Smith came to own her lovely Westy Bay. You see Heather watched from a safe distance as it was transformed from a rolling project into the vehicle you see before you now. The man responsible for all the work was her son-in-law, Dean Jones, of Classic / Tel: 01462 659833) and the man responsible for creating Nev, the full-custom, white over blue ’71 Bay with hydro suspension and Fifteen52 alloys. As HG Wells put it: “No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinised as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets.
