Ruined

To give some context to the whole ‘ruined’ thing, it was when Tom drove his Rat Doka to a guy’s house who was selling a rear seat for a classic Daimler; when Tom happened to drop it into the conversation that he was going to use said Daimler seat in the back of his truck, the guy’s demeanour soured somewhat and he just couldn’t hold back his opinion. I guess if you build a vehicle in the Rat style you have to be used to sparking controversy; some people hate fake patina cars with an unbridled passion.

When I asked Tom on the phone if this was his first VW van, I wasn’t really prepared for the reply: “I don’t actually like T4s. I was looking for a work truck and this was parked on a customer’s drive when I went to fit some windows”
