USED BUYING GUIDES: Peugeot 2008

THE boom in small SUVs was in full swing in the early 2010s, with every manufacturer keen to get in on the action. When Peugeot introduced the 2008 in July 2013, the competition was tough, with the likes of the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and Citroen C4 Cactus providing buyers with plenty of choice. The Peugeot 2008 rose to the challenge with a strong engine line-up, a practical interior, a big boot and handsome styling – a recipe that survived for a good six years before it was replaced.

As was the Peugeot way before the brand’s push upmarket later in the decade, the 2008 was priced competitively against its immediate rivals. It was also efficient, especially in diesel form, with low running costs that drew buyers in.
