THE open show, held on October 30 2021 at Dial Post Village Hall, attracted an entry of 197 with 172 birds being benched. This was a higher entry than the last show held in 2019, when there was an entry of 137 birds, but a little less than the 2018 figure of 229.

The committee thank Chris Smith for kindly officiating as judge of the canary section (112 entries) and Roger Green who judged both the British and foreign bird sections (35 entries and 25 entries respectively). The show secretary Malcolm Parsons stepped in to judge the budgerigar entries of 16 birds benched.

The 2021 open show winners were: best budgerigar, Ken Groves with a lovely light green cock bird, while C. Rogers benched the best novice budgerigar. Shane Evans with his greenfinch cock bird, was the winner of the champion British hard- bill and this was also judged the best British exhibit, while the best British hard- bill benched by a
