Try gyotaku

Gyotaku is the Japanese method of printing painted fish on to rice paper. It was initially used by fishermen to record their catches, but it has also become an art form.

My journey into fish painting was undertaken with trepidation. Having 40 years’ experience as a watercolour artist I wanted to explore this unique gyotaku art form. I had tried it several times over the years, once during a workshop in Portugal, where I learnt that it is very difficult. I do not profess to have reached any decent level of achievement.
