22 for 2022!

The Apprentice is one of the most beloved features of N-Photo, where we pair a professional photographer with one of our readers, eager to learn the tricks of the trade in a one-on-one workshop. The duo are joined by the N-Photo team, who document the day.

This issue marks 10 years since our inaugural Apprentice, which appeared in the very first N-Photo (the December 2011 issue), and looking back, our Apprentices have photographed every subject under the sun (and stars). We’ve shot everything from steam trains to aeroplanes, and been to Premier League football matches, gone on safari, and jostled in the pit at top rock acts on the way.

So to mark a decade of Apprentices, we thought we’d do something a little different, bringing you 22 of our finest Apprentices from past issues to welcome in 2022. In this Apprentice special, we’ve handpicked a selection of memorable readers’ shots, along with a few words on the techniques they learned from their tutor in taking them.
