Slurry incorporation methods compared: Tines, discs or more discs?
Rising fertiliser prices and unknown availability are forcing famers to use every kilogram of supplied nitrogen as effectively as possible. And when it comes to applying slurry, we know nitrogen losses are reduced when the product is placed directly into the soil rather than spread on the field surface.
If you have a trailed or self-propelled tanker with a rear three- or four-point linkage, then you have a number of machine options when it comes to incorporating slurry. Our German colleagues have a little more experience when it come to working in manure, but they still wanted to investigate what are the pros and cons of the different types of kit.
