Benimar is named after Benicarló, the Spanish coastal settlement where Caravanas Benimar was born. It is still on the sunny Costa Del Azahar, although since 1996, the firm has been based a few kilometres along the coast at Peniscola.

Benimar made its first motorhome – a Luton overcab coachbuilt – on a Bremen Merc back in 1978, but mass production of motorhomes didn’t commence until 1986.

They soon overtook touring caravans and mobile homes in popularity and for many years now, motorhomes have been Benimar’s sole offer.
