The steps realistically available to any renovator will vary with the scale of the project. Retrofitting the house will offer more opportunities than a quick make-over. Here, we will not focus on the blindingly obvious – LED lighting, A+ rated appliances, insulation and draught proofing – but rather consider things that arise less often.
