As I write this, I’m in a tent. That in itself is nothing extraordinary. But I’m also surrounded by meandering sheep and there’s the inevitable deluge of rain oncoming. Only in Scotland, eh? Yet it’s come at the end of a day of growth I didn’t know I needed; the end of day one of my golf camping extravaganza with the man known as ‘The Iron Golfer’ and his partner in crime.

“Open your mind to your limitless potential” is the sign-off of one of my fascinating hosts. Luke Willett, who some in certain golf circles will know through his exploits as one of the world’s finest speed golfers, has an entirely different view on life from almost anyone I’ve ever met and anyone I will likely ever meet. And alongside Dan Jackson at Square Banana, they form what, on the face of it, could be viewed as an unlikely partnership. Yet spend just a few hours in their company and it makes perfect sense.

And to them, what makes sense is exploring the realms of possibility. That brought about an idea: mixing golf with adventure travel. What could go
