BEYOND THE Basket

The glories of spring will soon be upon us, with flowers bouncing back to life, the sun shining a little brighter and outdoor activities beginning in earnest. There is an energizing zeal to this time of year, and Country Sampler stylist René Haines has assembled six creative designs in celebration. “We’re always ready for spring after the dreariness of winter,” she notes. “The color and expectation of starting over and getting a fresh start for the year is always exciting. I think it’s the same way in our decorating.”

Motivated to reinvent the traditional Easter basket as decor, René began by choosing a variety of containers outside the realm of the expected. “We tried to think of ways to be different and unique,” she remarks. Certainly, you can still have fun putting together the treat-filled baskets
