What changes have you noticed in the Tokyo art scene since the pandemic began?

Since museums were closed for a good chunk of time in the last two years, artists and curators launched their own platforms, experimenting in smaller venues, especially around the Shinjuku area. There are now three to four times more artist-run spaces than before the pandemic. Many of us were able to get money from the pandemic support fund. There’s Gallery Toh, an alternative art space in Yoyogi, and I’ve been running White house. Nearby is Decameron, a small art space and bar, and Ugo, in the Okubo
