‘Quarry Hunslet’ overhauls make important progress

THE overhaul of James Evans’ ex-Dinorwic Hunslet 0-4-0ST took a major step forward was withdrawn in 2017 in need of a new boiler, which is being constructed at Ffestiniog Railway’s Boston Lodge works. Hitherto the ‘Quarry Hunslet’ had been left intact, but the stage has been reached where parts of the old boiler need to be removed in order to check correct fitting in the new unit.
