1 Start/Finish Parking area on the waterfront close to Hawes Pier GR: NT135783 Head E past the entrance to the pier.

2 Pass under the railway bridge and bear L onto the track by the shore (John Muir Way). Continue along the shore track past Barnbougle Castle. Beyond Hound Point it’s possible to walk along the beach instead, re-joining the track just before the castle grounds.

3 Where the road enters the golf course at Dalmeny House, turn immediately L and continue on the
