MASTER OF GUNPOWDER GIFTS 10.5 MLN

Wang Zeshan, a dynamite specialist and academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, recently made an individual donation of 10.5 million yuan ($1.65 million) to the Nanjing University of Science and Technology in support of talent cultivation and research efforts.

The 86-year-old explosives expert born in Jilin Province is the winner of the 2017 State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, the nation’s highest scientific award, and is known as “the king of explosives” for his contributions to the study of energetic materials with a series of theories and applications.
