Wells Harbour Railway moved to Cornwall’s Lappa Valley line

DESPITE a campaign to keep it intact, Norfolk’s Wells Harbour Railway has been sold and at the end of November moved lock, stock and barrel nearly 400 miles to Cornwall’s Lappa Valley Railway.

In a move somewhat echoing the Spice Girls’ 1996 hit 2 Becomein gauge railways will effectively merge, with the rails from the ¾-mile Norfolk line being used to replace and upgrade those of the Lappa Valley at St Newlyn East.
