We were SWAPPED at birth

The sky outside Marinella Alagna’s hospital room window lit up with a kaleidoscope of colour.

It was the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1998, and just a few hours earlier, she’d given birth to a perfect baby girl, who she’d named Melissa.

Exhausted and giddy with love, she listened as hospital staff rang in the new year, before a nurse brought her baby back to her for her next feed.
