oung Poland: An Arts at the , London explores the decorative arts and architecture of – a cultural movement that flourished in response to Poland’s invasion and occupation by foreign powers, between 1890 and 1918. This is the first time an exhibition has been devoted to the movement. Works on show include paintings, intricate textiles and delicate paper cuttings, Christmas decorations and furniture, revealing how the political and social climate propelled the movement and reflecting its stylistic and philosophical affinities with the Arts & Crafts movement and, in particular, the work of William Morris and John Ruskin. is at the , Walthamstow, until January 30.
