Controlled spontaneity ink painting

As a mid-20th century Australian child I was surrounded by Asian art, for example Japanese woodblock prints, Indian ink drawings, books illustrated with Chinese art, Thai ornaments and jewellery, Indian inlaid tables, antique Chinese and enamel ware, Satsuma bowls and vases, jade and (unfortunately) ivory ornaments, celadon bowls, Chinese scroll paintings and writing boxes and trays.
