CASA to consult on Self-certification Medical for GA

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) revealed in late November that it was working on a new rule set that would permit private pilot licence holders to operate without a Class 2 medical.

To be known as a Class 5 medical, the new regulations are thought to be similar to the driver's licence medical standard under which holders of recreational pilot certificates (RPC) operate.
