Who’s Who on the club and show scene

Q Which clubs have you been most involved with? Any official roles?

Ray Piper: I am a council member of the Avicultural Society, a position I have held for several years, having been nominated by Mike Curzon, formerly of the Tropical Bird Gardens at Rode, and the late, great aviculturist Stewart Pyper (note different spelling – no relation!)

I am also a member of the Foreign Bird League, the Australian Finch Society (AFS), the Waxbill Society and the Poultry Club of Great Britain. I was also a member of the now-defunct Foreign Bird Society. I joined the Portsmouth & Southern Counties CBS as a junior in 1957 and have been a strong supporter of my local CBS for most of my life.
