Those of you reading this who are old enough to remember 1977 will appreciate just how long ago it truly was. Some momentous events took place that year, including the Queen’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, the release of the first Star Wars film, Concord’s first commercial flight and the death of Elvis Presley.

It was a significant time for Ford tractors, too. The company had just launched the important 700 Series; a range of tractors that was to prove significant not only because of their physical presence and stylish looks, but also because it brought with it the arrival of the first, Ford-produced four-wheel-drive models.
