My first hobby grade RC kit was Tamiya’s Hotshot. It was painted fire engine red and as fellow RC enthusiasts of the 80s will recall, it sported a single shock in the front and two burning hot cylindrical resistor heat sinks in the rear. As a youngster, I had no guidance on how to build the kit but I got it done somehow. My Hotshot was as much of a blast to build, as it was to drive.
