Seasons Like This

Around the country that I tend to hunt I’ve often found seasons can vary from plentiful to just plain hard going and, fortunately for me, this recent season was in the former category. By season I refer to our best pig hunting time of year, when the bigger pigs seem to pass through the country we hunt; this usually kicks off around late March and sometimes goes through to the beginning of Spring.

the drought I witnessed pig numbers drop off pretty steeply, as was the case with other feral and native animals in the area. With pigs being trapped, shot or caught around any available feed sources, feral goats were also mustered up
