Chasing the Foster Yeoman JHA hopper wagons

A FLEET of 100 modern air-braked bogie hopper wagons were ordered by Foster Yeoman shortly after the introduction of its Class 59/0 locomotives, with deliveries commencing in 1988.

Orenstein and Koppel (O&K) completed delivery of the new wagons in 1989 which were finished in a dull grey silver livery with a big ‘Y’ logo and a separate panel of blue with ‘Yeoman’ in white lettering. A blue stripe was applied along the lower edge of the hopper and along the top too.
