Windows 11 killed my internet

Given Windows 11’s positive reviews, I thought I might as well install it on my six-month-old, relatively high-spec desktop PC. All seemed to go well for an hour or so, after which my PC declared that it had installed Windows 11. However, I noticed that the new Start menu doesn’t allow grouping, but just throws items into a muddle – although you can at least sort them in lines. Then I found that Windows 11 won’t allow you to display seconds on the clock. Then Excel reported that it couldn’t find a valid installation code. Things were getting worse.

The killer was that I had no internet access! All my network adapters had disappeared – although Device Manager still reported them as working properly.
