Walk like an Egyptian
A 3,000-year-old walkway in the ancient city of Luxor, Egypt, has reopened after an extensive period of restoration. The Avenue of Sphinxes, also known as El Kebbash Road, is 2,700 metres long and up to seven metres wide, linking the Luxor Temple to the Karnak Temple Complex. Lined with ram-headed statues and traditional sphinxes, it was originally built by Queen Hatshepsut and lay hidden for centuries.
