I have been scanning options to make my trusty 30-year-old 90 Defender 2.5 turbodiesel compliant with London’s Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ), which will incur a Third World debt fine if used from October.

The Landy is very special to me, and I wonder if you have any suggestions on how or who could undertake work on the engine or ancillaries so as to become compliant and obtain confirmation from DVLA and Transport for London (TFL) that the vehicle will not incur fines if used in London, etc.

There is about 90k on the clock and, whilst regularly serviced (standard stuff), the bodywork underneath has the usual defects which I intend to make good once the authority has been obtained. I do hope you could assist and, whilst a bit of a novice on the hardcore technical side, I’m not fussed if
