A full set of fifteen Chinese Waterlow and Son overprints was one of the highlight’s from Spink’s recent Hong Kong sale. Issued between August and December 1912, just months after the revolution of 1911, the overprinted imperial stamps ensured the post office was considered a neutral zone with the overprint reading ‘Republic of China’.
