Reimagining Aran

CHARACTERISED BY intertwined cabling and oatmeal tones, and originally knitted for loved ones within the fishing and agricultural communities of the windswept islands off the west coast of Ireland, Aran knitwear carries a rich and meaningful history.

Intended to withstand the extreme weather conditions of island living, whilst showcasing symbolic patterns to bring luck, health and as an expression of identity through allegorical surface design, traditional Irish Aran knitwear combined practicality with individuality – a sentiment which continues to date.
