Ringside

The obituaries have been harsh, indeed. But has ROH really tapped out, or simply rolled out of the ring to catch a breather?

Let’s take ROH’s original announcement at its word: “We now find ourselves at a time where we need to make changes to our business operations and are planning a pivot for Ring of Honor, with a new mission and strategy.

“The year will culminate with a Final Battle in December, and we will be taking the first quarter of 2022 to work internally to reimagine ROH. ROH has the most dedicated fans in the industry, and we appreciate their loyalty and patience as we reconceptualize ROH.”

Before the October 27 tweet, ROH Chief Operations Officer held a Zoom call with talent, explaining they would all be released from their with confirmed that ROH will honor all contracts expiring on or before March 31, 2022. Individual renegotiations will be held with talent whose contracts extend beyond that date.
