AWARDS

Upon looking for awards offered for YLs (“young ladies,” a term used for any female ham) or for contacts with YLs, I was initially working with a couple of ladies in the Huntsville area and discussed the matter at the W4DXCC convention this past September. I discovered that the Young Ladies Radio League (YLRL) has an active award program, so we will feature those awards this time around.

The YLRL was founded more than 80 years ago as an organization made up of, run by and promoting women in amateur radio. Its founders included some of the most prominent women in amateur radio at the time. The following is from the group’s website at <ylrl.org/wp>:
