Chester Zoo: new developments

RECENT projects at Chester include the recently built conservation breeding and management complex, which lies next to the zoo and is off-exhibit. This is for the threatened species that require specialist care and environments or might not be such an interesting exhibit to the public. There are 48 breeding aviaries and lots of enclosure space for large and small mammal species.
A very exciting new exhibit is that for flamingos. Entitled the Latin American Wetland aviary, it also houses scarlet ibis and several species of waterfowl. It contains 122 Caribbean (American) flamingos. It
