WINNER

Barcelona

We asked you to name an urban or regional hotspot that you can’t wait to get back to or are looking forward to visiting for the first time. From a selection of classic city escapes and popular short-break destinations around the world, it was Barcelona that bagged top spot. Embodying everything there is to love about a Mediterranean getaway, Barcelona’s blend of gothic and modernist architecture, lively nightlife, laid-back beach culture, independent boutiques and endless sunshine have clearly been the stuff of your lockdown daydreams. From the heady heights of the Sagrada Familia (bars selling drinks and tapas) of La Barceloneta, the Spanish city has it all for a superlative short-haul getaway.
