Coming to the party

We went to a party on Saturday night, the first for us all since social gatherings officially became a public health problem in August. It was an observant party: outdoors, numbers capped to the picnic limit, everyone fully vaccinated. We even had an externally accessible toilet.

When Auckland’s Level-3 rules were eased some weeks ago to allow outdoor meetings, the to speak. Even, as one of the crew pointed out on Saturday night, the act of just being together in the same space and not necessarily saying anything.
