THE MAN IN THE MASK
SOME NEW TV shows land in the schedules without fanfare, while others announce their existence via a news story in the trade press. Some get the song and dance of a swanky, Apple-style keynote presentation, but there’s arguably never been a series that’s been unveiled in such an eye-catching, zeitgeistgrabbing manner as The Book Of Boba Fett.
If you thought Marvel were the masters at giving you reasons to hang around for the closing credits, their Disney bedfellows at Lucasfilm raised the stakes with The Mandalorian’s season two finale. Fresh from helping Din Djarin rescue Grogu (the artist formerly known as Baby Yoda) from the clutches of Moff Gideon’s Imperial remnant, the infamous Boba Fett and his bounty hunting sidekick Fennec Shand made an unexpected return to Tatooine during the end titles.
THE GOOD BOOK
With Jabba the Hutt’s bloated major-domo, Bib Fortuna, having taken control of his late master’s crime empire, Fett and Shand waltzed into Jabba’s palace with intent, and clinically executed the shady Twi’lek.
