ALSO OUT
s ever, there’s plenty more books we couldn’t quite squeeze in. Zimbabwean author Blessing Musariri’s debut (out now, Flipped Eye) sounds intriguing: it’s an African dystopia, author John Ajvide Lindqvist’s latest (out now, riverrun) concludes a three-book series connected by a mysterious field. Judging by book two it may work as a standalone read, though. There’s also a new entry in Diana Gabaldon’s saga (the ninth): (out now, Century) sees the American Revolution creeping ever closer to Fraser’s Ridge, North Carolina home of Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall. And there are conclusions for a couple of popular series: Fonda Lee’s East Asia-inspired wraps up with (2 December, Orbit), while Benedict Jacka’s (2 December, Orbit) is her final book about shopkeeper-turned-mage Alex Verus. Turning to non-fiction: we suspect (out now, Gollancz) – an update on 2012’s – will end up stuffed in the stocking of many a Terry Pratchett fan. Old-school fans should lap up (out now, ), British comics legend Pat Mills’s memoir about the creation of Celtic barbarian Sláine. Finally, (7 December, Titan) rather explains itself, doesn’t it?
