‘I wanted a SC ANDI-BOHO VIBE’

This was the first house I’ve ever owned, after moving to Cornwall from London in my 30s and renting nearby for a few years,’ says Zaya. ‘When I moved in, the house was in good decorative order, but not to my particular style. The upstairs bathroom, for example, featured a peach-coloured corner bath, and the kitchen walls were painted turquoise, with dark grey woodwork. There was also lino on the floor, which I wasn’t keen on. Although I didn’t need to do anything particularly structural, I wanted to put my own stamp on it.
