The world’s first purpose-built recording studio is celebrating its 90th birthday. In November 1931, after years of renovations to turn an unassuming townhouse into a and recording sessions of his music—caught on film by Pathé. Fred Astaire, Radiohead and Adele would all follow suit, as would the soundtracks for the ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Harry Potter’ films.
