Having carried out all of the welding needed on our Montego, we now had some major decisions to make regarding how far to go with the paint.

On the nearside rear quarter we needed to sand back some imperfections on the flared section of the wheelarch, and this brought the area to be painted very close to the crease line where the wheelarch met the rear wing, where it would have been an obvious place to lose the join between old and new paint. We could also have tried losing this join
