Research suggests “wrestler” is actually an African warrior
A Roman-era figurine long thought to be a wrestler instead depicts an African warrior, new analysis indicates. The 55mm-high figure made of lead was discovered in the 1920s at Wall Roman Site in Staffordshire, and is thought to have been made near the Mediterranean in the first century AD.
