MALCOLM DOME

Music writer Malcolm Dome passed away in October 2021, aged 66. He had been a contributor to Prog since the magazine’s inception in 2009, as well as a longtime friend of most of the writers on the magazine.

Malcolm had an illustrious and celebrated career, which stretched back to working for Record Mirror in the late 70s and Metal Fury poster magazine in the early 80s before joining Kerrang! at its launch in 1981.

His first book, , published in 1981 and in 1984. He would also go on to pen the first book on thrash metal, simply titled , in 1990.
