Clubbing together works for fowlers

What a peculiar view of the realities of wildfowling Peter Gilroy Marshall has (Letters, 27 October). I think that to state that Kent Wildfowling and Conservation Association (KWCA) is more of a threat than the RSPB is just silly.

The long-established wildfowling club on the north coast of the Thames that he claims has been ‘taken over’ can only be Leigh-on-Sea Wildfowlers Association (LOSWA). I would like Shooting Times readers to know that, far from being taken over, LOSWA by a unanimous vote amalgamated with KWCA some 10 years ago. That was soon followed by an investment of £175,000 to purchase freehold land locally to protect wildfowling and further develop conservation initiatives.
