Plover takeover
Rare upland birds are once again breeding in Snowdonia, for the first time in more than 20 years, thanks to heroic conservation efforts. Golden plover and curlew had been missing from peatlands in the Upper Conwy Valley for decades, but the RSPB has worked tirelessly alongside the Ritchie family to transform their upland farmland into a biodiverse haven for plants including mosses, cotton grasses and sundews.
