Bumper attention

It was a case of good timing when we discovered our XF’s aircon condenser needed replacing as we’d already planned to remove and respray the front bumper. After last issue’s visit to North Wales Jag Centre, one of the final jobs was to see if the aircon was leaking. Armed with a UV light, we spotted a small leak around the offside bottom corner of the condenser. It probably didn’t fully diagnose the reason why the aircon was incapable of blowing icy cold air, but it was a start and needed fixing.

Upon returning home to Leeds, Rob booked some workshop time in with his local garage, MJ Motors, who are conveniently next door to a bodyshop, so the plan was to remove the front bumper to paint it, whilst at the same time, replace the aircon condenser.

As you’ll see from the following steps, the bumper and condenser jobs ran as smoothly as possible for a Jaguar that’s 11 years old. There were only a couple of rusty fastenings, but these were typically in the most awkward to reach areas of the car.
