    THIS desert, after which SA’s neighbouring country Namibia is named, is believed to be the oldest desert on Earth as the area has been arid for at least 55 million years. The word “namib” means “vast place” in the Khoekhoe language. But despite its appearance, this desert isn’t empty and desolate. Let’s find out more.
