Getaway and Mazda Southern Africa have teamed up for three extraordinary road trips to unsung corners of South Africa. Along for the ride on the Change Your View expeditions will be one of three city-based street artists armed with a boot-load of spray paint looking to change their perspectives and painting murals in settings wildly divergent from their urban stomping grounds. The aim is to encourage curious travel to little known places.

To kick things off, we pointed our Mazda CX-3 north in the direction of Namaqualand to explore the N7 and the backroads of the Kamiesberg with Quasiem Gamiet, a graphic designer, street artist and family man. Quasiem is happiest with spray can in hand, creating colourful murals in his neighbourhood of Salt River, arguably the graffiti mecca of Cape Town.
