COMEDY: THE GREAT (Neon/Sky Go). Catherine the Great may have lasted four one-hour episodes as a Helen Mirren-starring HBO miniseries, but acclaimed black comedy The Great, with Elle Fanning as the 18th-century Empress of Russia, is now heading into a second, 10-part season.

Created by Australian screenwriter Tony McNamara, who co-wrote , and based upon a play that debuted in Sydney in 2008, is very loosely based on history and the tempestuous marriage of Catherine to Peter III, played by Nicholas Hoult.
