Adventure photographer

Chris Burkard is a photographer, adventurer, creative director, speaker and author. He has worked with clients including Apple, Toyota, Patagonia, CitiBank, American Airlines; numerous surf, skateboarding and outdoor gear companies; and international tourist boards from New Zealand to Norway. He’s also worked on campaigns and supported causes with organisations such as National Parks Conservation Association, Tompkins Conservation and Conservation International.

His books include California Surf Project, High Tide, Under An Arctic Sky and his latest, Wayward. He also delivered a Ted Talk (available on YouTube via www.bit.ly/dc249burkard) on the joy of surfing in ice-cold water.

He has completed assignments and expeditions in Russia, Canada, Norway, Iceland, the USA, New Zealand and other countries, often exploring places far from tourist hotspots or civilisation. When not on the road (or in the ocean), he lives in Pismo Beach, California, with his wife and two sons.
